We hope you enjoy these pictures of the members of our unit.  Please click on the thumbnail to see a large version of the picture.

  Coy. portrait

Company portrait before the Thomas Paine Cottage. Interesting mix of uniforms depicts that some grenadiers have been 'drafted' into our ranks. Also, as is illustrated, our organization is family oriented.

  Company rank

The rank and file wait in the shade for things to start at the 250th Anniversary of Braddock's defeat.

Recruiting sgt.

Our recruiting poster, left, grenadier dressed for parade, right, grenadier dressed in marching order.

Drummer boy

The youngest member of the Company, the Drummer. The 1751 Warrant stated that Drummers of all Royal regiments were allowed to wear Royal livery. With trophies and drums on his cap and false, hanging sleeves in his back, the drummer wears the most eye catching of uniforms so that his officers for whom he serves, can pick him out of the crowd.

  Crossing Monongehela

Fording the 'Monongahela River', 250th Anniversary of Braddock's defeat.

  Drink break

A break in the line of march to water. Wilderness road, 250th Anniversary of Braddock's Defeat.

  Sudden attack

Surprised by ambush and under great duress, the leading grenadiers load their muskets. 250th Anniversary of Braddock's defeat.

  Line volley

The front line fires blindly into the forest at an un-seen foe. 250th Anniversary of Braddock's Defeat.

  Drummer beating commands

The little drummer boy holds his position, beating out his officer's commands. 250th Anniversary of Braddock's Defeat.

  Company dinner

The Company uses the Thomas Paine Cottage in New Rochelle, NY as its home base and headquarters where authentic meals are a regular feature of our "Living History" events.

  Dinner fun

After the meal, authentic jollification.

  Tavern dinner

Tinwhistle, song and pipesmoke fill the air of Tavern Night at the Queens Farmhouse Museum.

  Tavern relaxation

Attention to details, Grenadiers' hair is neatly plaided with sidecurls as they relax in the tavern.

  Atmospheric tavern

An atmospheric scene in the tavern.

  Dress Grenadier

A Grenadier of the 1st of Foot, the Royal Regiment, as seen in the Morier painting, with white parade gaiters.

  Education program

Members of the Company, teaching new "recruits" the drill as part of the hand-on activities that make up our living history education programs.

  Company Officer

The Company officer, at his paperwork, wearing his undress "red suit."

  1st of Foot on Review

The Captain reviews a squad of Royal's grenadiers on the Fort Frederick parade ground. Soldier second from right is a sergeant seconded to the Royals from the Royal Americans (62nd Regt.) who will wear out his old uniform until the Royals new year's issue arrives.

  Forest March

The Royals and British Provincial troops advance to the attack in skirmishes that took place around Fort Frederick, MD.

  Fire!

The troops fire a battalion volly at the enemy outside of Fort frederick, MD.

  Captain's papers

Under the watchful eyes of the Corporal of the Guard, the Captain and his lady conduct business from the company office in the barracks at Fort Frederick, MD.
